LND01508- Local Area Maritime Identification Beacon
Army operations are frequently conducted over large bodies of water (including both lakes and open oceans) with the risk of personnel falling overboard from their water craft. Should this occur, the ability to identify and locate the person overboard as quickly as possible is paramount to their survival. The Australian Defence Force (ADF) has identified the need for a short range Beacon which can be carried by personnel at sea and subsequently activated should they fall overboard.
To meet this capability requirement, the Beacon must be a light, small form-factor device capable of transmitting an emergency signal with its location to nearby vessels. The product must be ruggedized and waterproof, allowing it to survive descents into water and impacts.
The Commonwealth will exclude a tender from further consideration if the Commonwealth considers that the tenderer does not satisfy any of the Conditions for Participation specified in the Tender Details Schedule.
