Defence Industry Future Training Briefing
Defence Industry representatives are invited to attend a briefing by the Department of Defence on the future of Australia’s military training environment being developed through the Australia-Singapore Military Training Initiative (ASMTI).
The ASMTI will see Singapore invest about $2 billion to jointly develop military training areas – expanding the Shoalwater Bay Training Area (SWBTA) and establishing a new training area in North Queensland. Over the life of the Initiative there is an opportunity to deliver the foundations for technology-enabled training areas.
The design of next generation training areas – amid the evolving character of conflict and rapid advances in technology – is being considered by the ASMTI. This includes the integration of space, cyber and information environments into the more traditional training environments of land, sea and air as well as the use of robotics and autonomous systems.
Department of Defence officials will brief industry representatives on the broader ADF simulation context and the role of the ASMTI within this framework. Discussions will provide an opportunity for industry to identify potential opportunities and discuss developments with Defence, industry and higher education representatives.
Who should attend?
Industry representatives with a strong background in the design and development of defence training, training facilities and collective training technology are encouraged to attend. Due to limited numbers, one representative per organisation should attend. An addendum will be posted on the AusTender website when registration is full.
