ANSTO is calling for Approach to Market (ATM) submissions from organisations with expertise and experience in the provision of heavy, oversized and Dangerous Goods Transport Services, to establish a short list of suitable companies which can be invited to tender for the required road transport service.

The scope includes provision of a Crane of suitable capacity to perform a Dangerous Goods rated lift of ~ 103 tonnes at distance, unloading from a berthed ship to a suitable truck/trailer and transporting it to a location within ANSTO’s Lucas Heights site. As per AS 1418.1 Cranes, hoists and winches, Section 7.12.8.4 Dangerous Goods lifting – the hoist rated capacity shall not be less than 1.25 times the lifted load, i.e. at the point of lift, the mobile crane capacity must be at least 128.8 tonnes. The Scope also includes all coordination & planning with RMS, EPA, law enforcement agencies and other statutory agencies for moving the package from port to Lucas Heights. Note that the transport services will be carried out in compliance with the Chain of Responsibility laws under the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator.
