AusAID, the Australian Agency for International Development, manages the Australian Government’s official overseas aid program. AusAID assists developing countries to reduce poverty and achieve sustainable development, in line with Australia’s national interest.  AusAID is seeking a Contractor to undertake the Deployee Support Services for the Solomon Islands based in Solomon Islands: 

AusAID DEPLOYEE SUPPORT SERVICES FOR SOLOMON ISLANDS (DSSSI) 

Managing contractors are currently engaged by AusAID to provide in-country logistics and related procurement and management support services for staff deployed in several regional countries including the Solomon Islands. Through the DSSSI, AusAID will provide support to Australian Public Servants (APS) and other personnel and their families deployed to the Regional Assistance Mission to the Solomon Islands (RAMSI) to work effectively and without concern by providing safe and secure residential accommodation, on-going maintenance of housing, vehicles and working communications. Separately, AusAID is also tendering for similar services to Indonesia, Nauru and Papua New Guinea.

The key objective of DSSSI is: To provide cost effective support services to specific standards for RAMSI Deployees and their families, to enable the Deployees to work effectively and reside safely in the Solomon Islands. It is anticipated that DSSSI will commence in April 2011 and will continue over 27 months to 30 June 2013.  Contracting arrangements will include an option for AusAID to extend the services for up to a further 36 months.
