ASADA’s Investigation Unit’s main function is to conduct investigations into potential Anti-Doping Rule Violations (ADRV’s) by athletes and support persons.

Pursuant to section 13(1)(f) of the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority Act 2006 (ASADA Act), ASADA has the power to investigate possible violations of the anti doping rules.

The primary purpose of ASADA conducting investigations is to determine whether there is sufficient evidence for it to make a finding that an individual may have committed an ADRV as defined by the National Anti Doping (NAD) Scheme contained in ASADA’s Regulations and by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Code.

:
It is an essential requirement of the Services that all investigators proposed by tenderers to undertake investigations under the Draft Contract must hold a current Investigator’s Licence in the State or Territory in which they are proposed to undertake those investigations. Documentation demonstrating the qualifications and experience of specified personnel must be provided.
