Containerised Modular Capability – AIMS Replacement Research Vessel Program – Expression of Interest
AIMS is undertaking a project to designing and build the next generation research vessel. An important part of that project is to investigate and provide solutions to optimise vessel layout and scientific capability.
A part of AIMS' solution is to accommodate some resources in a modular, containerised capability enabling deployment on a trip-by-trip basis and also to be utilised across a range of vessels.
Worldwide research vessels are moving to this style of capability. The standard footprint is a 6 metre ISO container.
Utilising a standard footprint will enable more flexibility deployments of scientific capability, and access to more equipment from across the wider research vessel operator community.
AIMS' requirement can be broken up into three containerised configurations. AIMS invites expressions of interest from providers who can design and construct only one, two or three of these container configurations.

Type 2 Lined (Storage)
- 3m and 6m Hi Top CSC Certified Cargo Container

- 3m and 6m Hi Top CSC Certified Cargo Container
- Modified Caged and Flat deck Configurations
