Provision of Human Effluent and Septic Waste Removal for Booderee National Park
The Director of National Parks (DNP) is seeking tenders for provision of human effluent and septic waste removal for Booderee National Park.
Booderee National Park is owned by the Wreck Bay Aboriginal Community and leased to DNP. DNP and WBACC jointly manage the Park as a Commonwealth Reserve under the Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act.
The Park is a popular regional tourism and recreation destination, attracting over 400,000 visitors each year. Visitation varies considerably throughout the year with the majority coming during the summer period which places huge demand on the facilities located throughout the Park.
A variety of public toilet facilities are provided throughout the Park with a number of them requiring effluent pump out from various sized holding tanks. The Park is located within Jervis Bay Territory and has its own sewerage treatment works separate to those operated by Shoalhaven City Council.
