The Department of Employment, Skills, Small and Family Business (the department) is seeking responses from entities interested in designing and delivering industry pilots that help young people gain the skills and experience they need to find sustainable work.

The Australian Government has made available $10 million to help industry organisations develop pathways for young people to gain work experience and employment. This initiative responds to calls from industry for greater input in selecting, training, matching and supporting young job seekers into work.

The industry pilots will test the effectiveness and benefits of industry-led pre-employment pathways designed to fast track young people into work. Industry pilot providers will have direct access to work experience and job opportunities for young people and deliver pre-employment pathways tailored to the needs of suitable employers within the industry pilot timeframe.

The industry pilots build upon the already successful Youth Jobs PaTH initiative that has helped almost 50,000 young job seekers find work.

Industry pilots must be delivered in Australia and can be delivered nationally, in one or more states or in a single location.

Entities such as industry groups, business peak bodies, employers and group training organisations are strongly encouraged to respond to the REOI.

The procurement will be undertaken in two stages:

  • stage one – REOI
  • stage two – Request for Tender (RFT) open only to Respondents to the REOI shortlisted by the department.

Respondents interested in designing and delivering an industry-led Pilot must submit a response in accordance with the requirements outlined in the REOI in order to be considered for the RFT stage.

:

Respondents are encouraged to refer to the department’s Employment Services Purchasing Information website (www.employment.gov.au/purchasing) for further information.
