DEPLOYEE SUPPORT SERVICES FOR NAURU
AusAID, the Australian Agency for International Development, manages the Australian Government’s official overseas aid program. AusAID assists developing countries to reduce poverty and achieve sustainable development, in line with Australia’s national interest. AusAID is seeking a contractor to undertake the following development program in Nauru:
AUSAID DEPLOYEE SUPPORT SERVICES FOR NAURU (DSSN)
AusAID is seeking suitable agencies to provide logistical support in the form of Deployee Support Services for Nauru. Separately, AusAID is also tendering for Deployee Support Services for Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands. Australia is providing development assistance to Nauru to further strengthen bilateral relations and enhance Nauru’s long-term viability. The Governments of Australia and Nauru entered into a Partnership for Development in August 2009 and five priority areas for assistance were identified: public sector management, education, health, infrastructure and private sector growth. Australia’s assistance includes the deployment of long and short term advisers (deployees) to support Nauruan agencies. The objectives of the DSSN are:
- To provide cost effective support services to specific standards for deployees and their families, to enable the deployees to work effectively and reside safely in Nauru;
- To provide cost effective support services to specific standards for deployees and their families, to enable the deployees engaged for ad hoc tasks to work effectively and reside safely in other countries of the world.
It is anticipated that the program will commence about June 2011 and will continue up to three years with an option for AusAID to extend DSSN for up to a further three years.
Selection will be on a one step basis.
