EST00013PH1 – PROJECT NAME: DFTP - TRANCHE 2 FACILITIES – HEAD CONTRACT 1 – RAAF BASE LEARMONTH
The works include RAAF Base Learmonth, which is located on the northwest Cape peninsula of Western Australia, approximately 30 km south of Exmouth. The Base is used for training exercises and operational requirements, supporting land, air and sea operations.
HC1 - Defence Fuel Installation (Aviation) (DFI(A)) and a new Defence Fuel Installation (Ground) (DFI(G)) at RAAF Base Learmonth (WA)
The scope of the new DFI(A) includes the following:
• New DFI(A) to provide additional 2 x 3ML of storage capacity using a cut and cover construction methodology, Quality Control Inspection tank, offloading and dispensing points, electrical control systems and support facilities;
• Improvement of DFI(A) fuel quality control facilities; and
• A facility building to support the expansion of the existing DFI(A), located to the east of the existing operational DFI(A). The facility is to provide a Control Room, Office, Fuel Quality Control Test Centre (laboratory), Crib and Amenities.
The scope of the new DFI(G) includes the following:
• Establishment of DFI(G) with a total of 60,000L of diesel stored across at least two below-ground storage tanks integrated with the existing Central Emergency Power Station (multiple storage tanks required for redundancy);
• Decommissioning and remediation of DFI(P) diesel tank; and
• Decommissioning and remediation of existing DFI(G).

PWC Act
The works described in the Invitation to Register Interest are "public work" and, therefore, subject to section 18 of the Public Works Committee Act 1969 (Cth).
