The Department of Health is seeking to engage an organisation to provide National Infrastructure Project Facilitator services under the Closing the Gap Health Infrastructure Major Capital Program.
The National Infrastructure Project Facilitator role adds value to the Closing the Gap Health Infrastructure Program by encouraging appropriate engagement with risk in facilitating successful outcomes. The NIPF will:
- provide the Commonwealth with whole-of-program quality assurance in the delivery of a range of infrastructure services to a high standard and in a culturally appropriate and sensitive manner;
- ensure Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHSs) understand their obligations under the capital works Funding Agreement, and provide ACCHSs with specialist advice to ensure value for money is achieved in selecting trades professionals to deliver projects, such as a Construction Project Manager (CPM) and suitably qualified builders and construction companies;
- ensure projects proceed in an efficient and effective manner by monitoring progress (including through regular on-the-ground attendance at project sites), sensitively resolving or escalating disputes, and reporting back to the Commonwealth; and
assist to manage Commonwealth risk through the identification and provision of advice to the Department on impending ‘blind spots’.
