Consultant for Quantity Surveying Services – Townsville
The Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS) has developed a capital works programme at Cape Cleveland and at the AIMS Vessel Berthing Facility Townsville to support its continued growth and expansion associated with the ongoing research demands and resilience of the institute.
The purpose of this request for tender (RFT) is to seek a Consultant for Quantity Surveying Services who will:
- Provide P80 estimates based on concept design documentation for business case submissions.
- Design phase cost planning advice associated with design development including advice on opportunities to obtain cost efficiencies where appropriate.
- Elemental Estimate based on 50% Design and updated for the 90% design based on the Australian standard method of measurement (pretender estimates).
- Procurement evaluation and assessment on procurement packages as issued
- Provide construction phase quantity surveying support on the projects as presently approved to progress into construction inclusive of progress claim certification and variation assessments.
- Provide quarterly cost reports on the projects (in accordance with AIMS reporting requirements).
- Quarterly funds transfer reports which recommend the transfer of project costs to assets which have been finalised /completed including allocation by asset class for depreciation and cost allocation purposes.
- Upon completion of each of the projects, update the AIMS 40-year long term asset management strategy (for capital maintenance/ replacement) to include the new assets created and their capital maintenance requirements.
- Provide robust cost estimating services to ensure successful delivery of the project.

The Respondent must at the time of submitting its Tender satisfy each condition for participation as listed in the RFT Preconditions and Conditions of Tender.
Within 12 – 24 months from Award Date inline with the Design Program Milestones
