Call for Submission (CFS) Stage criteria: Suitability, Feasibility, Timeliness and Contribution to Australia's defence industry capability. Request for Proposal (RFP) criteria: the aforementioned CFS criteria, along with two additional criteria being Cost and Organisational Capability and Capacity. These criteria will be used as part of the value for money determination.

Description:

The Department of Defence (Defence) via the Australian Army and the Defence Innovation Hub (DIH) are seeking innovation submissions that will assist Defence in exploring tactical Logistics Uncrewed Aerial Systems (LOG-UAS) for the Land Force. Army has a mature layering of surveillance and reconnaissance UASs from micro through to large. UAS that can supplement / undertake routine resupply, high risk combat resupply and casualty evacuation missions to troops in contact remains a capability gap. For context, industry could consider Army’s Robotic and Autonomous Systems Strategy which outlines the need for un-crewed and autonomous platforms to deliver combat supplies through self-cueing resupply and automated platform delivery.

Timeframe for Delivery:

Defence’s objective of this procurement is to conduct a detailed evaluation of Submissions and Proposals to select a number of Tenderers to enter into an Innovation Contract with Defence to deliver a technology demonstration for the Australian Army within 18 months after contract commencement.
