DFAT is calling for expressions of interest for two separate roles to establish and support the delivery of a new regional initiative, the Southeast Asia Gender-based Violence Prevention Platform: an Incubator organisation and a Gender-based Violence Technical Partner.

Multiple forms of gender-based violence (GBV) and harmful practices are present in the Southeast Asia region, as they are globally. Research and consultations highlight that the root causes and drivers of GBV are gender inequitable norms and attitudes, and there is a need to strengthen and increase gender-transformative violence prevention approaches that address these root causes and drivers to stop GBV before it starts.

This new five-year (2024-29) AUD 20 million program (phase 1) builds on Australia's bilateral partnerships to advance GBV prevention and response efforts in Southeast Asia, by strengthening regional capacity and improving coordination on primary prevention through a regionally-led Platform. Responding to the recommendations of the 2019 Ending violence against women and girls: Evaluating a decade of Australia’s development assistance, the Platform will support locally informed and led evidence building and practice on ‘what works’ to prevent GBV.

:

In accordance with heading 5 on the Terms and Conditions document 'How the process will work', an industry briefing will be held at 5:00 pm AEST Wednesday, 13 September 2023 via WebEx/Teams.

Attendance at the briefing is optional.

All times are local time in Canberra, Australia. DFAT reserves the right to alter the timeline.

:

The EOI is issued as a single procurement with two parts: Incubator organisation; and Gender-based violence (GBV) Technical Partner.

Applicants can apply for one role or for both roles.

Responses must be written in English.

All responses must be submitted via AusTender by the Closing Date.
