The Geocoded National Address File (G-NAF) is Australia's authoritative, geocoded address file. The G-NAF is one of the most ubiquitous and powerful spatial datasets. It contains more than 15 million Australian physical address records along with their dedicated latitude and longitude map coordinates. The G-NAF is built and maintained by Geoscape Australia using authoritative government data. Since February 2016, the Australian Government has funded an initiative to make the G-NAF publicly available, at no cost to end users. Updated data is published on a quarterly basis at data.gov.au. This is referred to as the 'open G-NAF initiative'. The Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources (DISER) manages this open data initiative. Consultancy services are required for a sequential, two-phased project to: • Review the effectiveness of the current G-NAF in meeting end user requirements and delivering on the public good policy priority of the initiative, and recommend any adjustments if and as required. • Audit Geoscape Australia's costs to produce the current open G-NAF, and estimate costs for any adjustments.
