The Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) is planning to introduce Service Delivery Partner (SDP) arrangements in the South Pacific Region. The introduction of SDP arrangements in this region will improve client access to the Department’s services through a range of service points which offer extended operating hours and a safe and secure environment for DIAC clients.
The SDP will provide a number of visa lodgement services, including:
- answering basic pre-lodgement and general post-lodgement progress enquiries on visa applications;
- distributing/downloading visa application forms and checklists to clients;
- accepting visa applications, checking for completeness and transporting the applications to the relevant visa office;· collecting and banking visa/citizenship application charges;
- arranging and managing appointments; and
- maintaining records of applications and fees received and providing relevant statistical reports. The implementation of the SDP across the region will be via a phased approach and commence from mid 2011.
