TA-LOG is responsible for the delivery of the majority of training for Marine Technician (MT) and Electronic Technician (ET) sailors in the RAN. Technical training ranges from initial to advanced in mechanical, electrical and electronic proficiencies. The RAN is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and provides Competency Based Training and Assessment under the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF). Qualifications awarded range from Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Certificate III to Advanced Diploma level. Technical training is delivered at a number of locations including HMAS CERBERUS; and Sydney, Perth, Darwin and Cairns regions using a combination of Commonwealth and contractor facilities.
Scope of ProcurementThe scope of this procurement activity will comprise the following:
a. Delivery of technical training and assessment including:
- Initial Technical Training (ITT) for MT and ET sailors in the RAN and Communication Electronic Fitter (CEFITT) airmen in the RAAF to AQF Certificate III level at HMAS CERBERUS;
- Applied Skills and Technology Courses (ASTC) to AQF Certificate IV level in Sydney and Perth;
- Senior Technician’s Course (STC) to AQF Certificate V level in Sydney and Perth;
- AMPS FMMS User Level 35 and 80 courses in Sydney, Perth, Darwin, Cairns and HMAS CERBERUS;
- Mine Hunter Coastal (MHC) maintenance training at HMAS WATERHEN; and
- Practical trade training within Fleet Support Units in Sydney, Perth, Darwin and Cairns.
b. Training Management and Support Services including:
- Competency administration and management for Technical and Supply & Health Category sailors in the RAN;
- Training records and data management for initial to advanced technical training; and
- Training Resource Management.
c. Training Development Services including:
- Maintenance of existing training material; and
- Development of new training material.
