Description:

Tenders are invited from suitably qualified entities to undertake the role of Contractor for certain Works on the basis described in the Tender Documents.

At the time of issuing the Tender Documents, the Works include aircraft pavement maintenance works at 15 Defence airfields throughout Australia, with the prospect of Additional Works being carried out at a further 13 Defence airfields. Particulars of which airfields are the subject of the Works and which may be the subject of Additional Works will be detailed in the Tender Documents. The 28 Defence Bases that are, or that may become, the subject of the Works or Additional Works, as applicable, are separated into four Construction Packages as follows:

· Construction Package 1 (NSW/VIC): HMAS Albatross (Nowra Airfield), RAAF Base East Sale, Holsworthy Luscombe Airfield, Jervis Bay Airfield, Puckapunyal Airfield, RAAF Base Richmond, RAAF Base Wagga Wagga, RAAF Base Williamtown and RAAF Williams (Point Cook);

· Construction Package 2 (QLD): RAAF Base Amberley, AAC Oakey, Samuel Hill Airfield, RAAF Base Scherger, RAAF Base Townsville, Williamson Airfield and Wyoming Airfield;

· Construction Package 3 (NT/SA): RAAF Base Darwin, RAAF Base Edinburgh, Mount Bundey Airfield, Robertson Barracks, RAAF Base Tindal and RAAF Base Woomera;

· Construction Package 4 (WA): Bindoon Airfield, RAAF Base Curtin, RAAF Base Gin Gin, RAAF Base Learmonth, RAAF Base Pearce and HMAS Stirling.

At the time of issuing the Tender Documents:

· tenders close 12 noon (Canberra Time) 11 June 2014; and

· the Works are anticipated to commence in August 2014.

Minimum Form and Content and Conditions for Participation Requirements

To submit a conforming Tender:

· the Tender must be submitted in accordance with clause 3.1(a) (including submission to the address specified in the Tender Documents by the Closing Time and Date described in the Tender Documents);

· the Tender must satisfy each minimum form and content requirement in clause 3.1(b); and

· the Tenderer must satisfy each condition for participation in clause 3.1(c),

of the Tender Conditions, set out in the Tender Documents. The evaluation criteria are described in clause 4 of the Tender Conditions, set out in the Tender Documents.

The Building Code 2013 applies to this project. These documents can be viewed at www.employment.gov.au/building-code-2013.

Australian Government Fair Work Principles apply.

The Australian Government Building and Construction OHS Accreditation Scheme authorised by the Fair Work (Building Industry) Act 2012 (Cth) and the Fair Work (Building Industry - Accreditation Scheme) Regulations 2005 (Cth) applies to this contract.

Timeframe for Delivery:

It is anticipated that Delivery of the Works will commence in August 2014.
