Design services on the basis described in the Request for Tender, are not limited to but include the following:
(i) Designing the packages of work to be delivered by the Head Contractor(s) requiring consistent functional designs.
(ii) Engaging all necessary sub-consultants to design and document the works;
(iii) Developing the design drawings and documentation including but not limited to the Schematic Design Report (50%) and Detailed Design Report (90%) and tender and construction drawings;
(iv) Conducting all necessary site investigations and facilities assessments;
(v) Engaging an experienced fire engineer (one who has appropriate knowledge and understanding of the MFPE) to provide input into the facility design, particularly for the fire protection of the new facility.
(vi) Assisting with the preparation of the Detailed Business Case (DBC) by providing the required drawings, specifications and cost plan data;(viii) Provide all information requested by Defence to allow the development of the DBC;
(ix) in conducting value management workshops; and
(x) Complete Design to 100%, provide Technical guidance for Head Contract (HC) tender evaluations and Design Services during Delivery Phase.
(xi) The Design Services Consultant will be involved in extensive stakeholder consultation throughout the design process of the DSTO-M Facilities project.
At the time of issuing this Invitation to Tender:
- The services are anticipated to commence in May 2011 with completion on or before October 2012; and the estimated value of the services is between 6% and 8% of the value of the project.
- The estimated value of the project is in the order of $4.5 -5.5 million.
