AFMA requires the provision of data services for the Southern and Eastern Scalefish and Shark Fisheries (SESSF) to improve management and research decision making. Specifically, AFMA requires a contractor to undertake manipulation and scientific analysis of Integrated Scientific Monitoring Program (ISMP), Commonwealth Logbook, Catch Disposal Record (CDR), Fishery Independent Survey (FIS) and any other relevant economic or biological data so that the following deliverables are met:
- An annual fishing season (1 May - 30 April) report for each sector in the SESSF (South-East Trawl Sector (SETS); Gillnet Hook and Trap Sector (GHATS) and Great Australian Bight Trawl Sector (GABTS));
- Annual stock summaries of all applicable SESSF species/groups for Resource Assessment Groups (RAGs);
- An annual SESSF total catch and discard technical report for stock assessment purposes; and
- Response to any ad hoc analysis requests for each fishery in the SESSF.
The work will provide summarised fisheries data to the appropriate stock assessment scientists, AFMA managers, RAGs and Management Advisory Committees (MACs) that is essential in stock assessments of quota species at every level of assessment as well as management and research decision making. The respondent is referred to the Statement of Requirements and the Evaluation Criteria in the RFT for information on the requirements sought by AFMA.
Further details, including the RFT documentation are available on AFMA's website at http://www.afma.gov.au/about/career/tenders.htm
