At the time of issuing this Invitation to Register Interest, the proposed works under this combined package include the following:
- Joint Logistics Unit (South), RAAF Base Edinburgh:
- Either the minor refurbishment of the existing headquarters facility, OR construction of a new headquarters office building (approximately 1,775 m2). Applicants should note that the Commonwealth intends to tender both options.
- Construction of a new loan and repair pool warehouse (approximately 2,000 m2).
- Construction of a new hardstand for vehicle storage (approximately 10,000 m2) adjacent the new loan and repair pool warehouse.
- Modification of the existing land material maintenance workshop to enhance the electronic instrument and radio repair capability (approximately 460 m2).
- Defence Science and Technology Organisation, Edinburgh Defence Precinct:
- Construction of a new ultra wide band test facility (approximately 620 m2).
- Joint Logistics Unit (West), Palmer Barracks.
- Increase existing flexible and rigid hardstand for vehicle parking and equipment storage (approximately 1,615m2).
- Refurbish and extend an existing building to incorporate improved functionality for electronic instrument and radio equipment storage and maintenance (approximately 691 m2 office and storage areas).
- Construct new indoor weapons test fire facility as an extension to an existing facility (350m2).
- Adapt an existing storage area to provide additional climate controlled storage (approximately 38m2).
- Joint Logistics Unit (West), HMAS Stirling.
- Minor internal modifications to the existing warehouses to improve the warehouse efficiency.
The National Code of Practice for the Construction Industry, in accordance with the Australian Government Implementation Guidelines for the National Code of Practice for the Construction Industry May 2012, apply to this project. These documents can be viewed at www.deewr.gov.au/building.
The Australian Government Fair Work Principles apply.
The Australian Government Building and Construction OHS Accreditation Scheme authorised by the Fair Work (Building Industry) Act 2012 (Cth) and the Fair Work (Building Industry - Accreditation Scheme) Regulations 2005 (Cth) applies to this contract.
Construction of the works is anticipated from March 2013 to April 2014
