Preferred Supplier of SUN Microsystems' Software Hardware, and Professional Services
The current contract for the procurement of Sun Microsystems products expires shortly. IP Australia has decided to test the market because of the increase in the range of Sun software, hardware and services we now require. The principal requirement is for entry level, midrange and coolthread SPARC servers, maintenance and support, primarily at the Gold and Silver support levels. In addition, IP Australia also requires the ability to procure ALL software, hardware, support and consulting services available in the Sun product catalogue, on an ad hoc as required basis.
The primary object of this requirement is to introduce greater flexibility to the procurement and management of IP Australia's midrange Information Technology (IT) infrastructure and associated IT assets. The outcome of this RFT will be the establishment of a preferred supplier arrangement for the provision of ALL software, hardware, support and consulting services in the Sun catalogue, providing a value for money outcome for IP Australia; and
The ability for other Australian Commonwealth Government Agencies to leverage off the contract arrangement, in the form of an individual deed between the agency and the vendor, without impost or administrative overhead levied on IP Australia for the facility.
