The Land Headset System (LHS) is to provide an interface between the User and their communication equipment throughout a range of environmental conditions and mission profiles. The LHS is to be used in Australia and areas of operation of the Australian Defence Force throughout the world.
The LHS should interface to current and soon to be introduced radios, being utilised by the ADF. A major requirement of the LHS, is the ability to reconfigure the system at any time, based on conditions, the commander's policies and priorities, and situational awareness. The Commonwealth is interested in understanding innovative solutions that industry can provide
Subject to the conditions of tender, the proposed schedule for evaluation and negotiation is:
21 January 2013, Closing date for tenders.
15 February 2013, Purchase of Additional Sample Packs
29 march 2013, Receipt of Additional Sample Packs
June 2013, Evaluation
July 2013, Negotiations
Tenderers should note that the above schedule is subject to change at any time and is not to be relied on by tenderers.
The Commonwealth will exclude a tender from further consideration if the Commonwealth considers that the tenderer has not fully complied with a judgment against it from any Court or Tribunal (including overseas jurisdictions but excluding judgments under appeal or instances where the period for appeal or payment/settlement has not expired) relating to a breach of workplace relations law, occupational health and safety law or workers’ compensation law.

Proposed to have the Standing Offer in place in the second quarter of 2013, to run for two years with potential for two one year extensions.
