Establishment of a Health Technology Assessment Panel
The Department of Health seeks tenders from a number of suitable qualified and experienced organisations/consortia in order to establish a Health Technology Assessment Panel for the provision of a range of assessment, review and research support services.
Services that will be required from panel members will include asessment and other services related to applications for new services or amendments to items for MBS listing, MBS whole of specialty reviews, smaller MBS area reviews and other MSAC related services. In particular the services to be provided under this RFT include:
a) development of Decision Analytic Protocols (DAPs) for therapeutic intervention series or Investigative DAPs for imaging, diagnostics and other tests;
b) critiques of applicant developed DAPs;
c) training of Department staff in development and critiquing of DAPs;
d) development of Contracted Assessment Reports;
e) training of Department staff in development and critiquing of Contracted Assessment Reports;
f) critiques of applicant Submission Based Assessments;
g) training Department staff in critiquing of applicant Submission Based Assessments;
h) undertaking both whole of specialty and rapid reviews of current MBS listings;
i) training Departmental staff to undertake reviews;
j) other related ad hoc HTA related activity; and
k) assessments associated with blood products.
Additional health technology assessment and research support services as required by the Department may include but not be limited to ad hoc projects related to:
• comment on or review of policies and processes for health technology assessment;
• comment on or revision of guidelines for health technology assessment; and
• training and presentation in relation to health technology assessment specifically for Department staff or as part of a broader stakeholder or HTA workforce capacity training.
Tenderers may submit responses for as many of the separate services contained within this RFT as is appropriate for their organisation.
