Psychological Assessment Services
The assessments will be performed for the Defence Signals Directorate, Defence Intelligence Organisation, Defence Imagery and Geospatial Organisation, and the Defence Security Authority (DSA). From 1 October 2010, the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (formerly the DSA Vetting Branch) within the Department of Defence, will process and manage personnel security vetting services for most Commonwealth agencies.
As part of the Top Secret (Positive Vet) security clearance process, or as a requirement for posting or recruitment to some Commonwealth agencies, an individual is required to undergo a Psychological Assessment. The aim of the assessment is to identify indicators that a person, at the time of assessment, may or may not be suitable for access to highly classified or sensitive material and/or work in a high security environment. The DISG employs a number of full time psychologists to perform psychological assessments. The DISG intends to establish a standing offer panel of providers to perform psychological assessments when requirements exceed the allocated resources of the DISG staff.
The Commonwealth will exclude a tender from further consideration if the Commonwealth considers that the tenderer has not fully complied with a judgement against it from any Court or Tribunal (excluding judgements under appeal or instances where the period for appeal or payment/settlement has not expired) relating to a breach of workplace relations law, occupational health and safety law or workers’ compensation law.
