The Australian Public Service Commission (the Commission) and the Office of the Official Secretary to the Governor-General (OOSGG) are seeking two law firms to enter into a Standing Deed of Offer to provide legal services. The Commission and the OOSGG will both be party to the Standing Deed of Offer. Each agency is then free to issue a Work Order which will create a Contract for Services between the issuing agency and the Service Provider only.

In the last financial year the combined expenditure of the Commission and the OOSGG was approximately $240,000. Future expenditure could be either more or less than this and no undertaking is made by either the OOSGG or the Commission to spend any amount.

Mainly Canberra though the Commission does have offices throughout Australia.

The Tenderer must be a legal practice that complies with all applicable State laws governing the legal profession and is subject to the control of a relevant State Law Society or Part VIIB of the Judiciary Act 1903. The Tenderer must be financially viable and have professional indemnity insurance which meets the requirements of a relevant Law Society and is for an amount not less than $10 million per claim and in the aggregate in any 12 month period. NB Please see the Request for Tender for a definition of ?financially viable?.

The Deed of Standing Offer will remain in place for three years with two one year options to extend.
