The project will involve two phases:

Phase 1 – Assessment of burden of influenza disease in Australia

The Successful Tenderer will be required to develop a model to estimate the typical burden of influenza disease in Australia and quantify differences (demographic and/or clinical) between population groups, using the most appropriate data sources and methods according to the guidance and specifications of the Department.

Wherever possible, the burden of influenza disease should be described nationally as well as by geographic area, age group and at-risk group (where applicable). Appropriate endpoints of epidemiological and clinical importance should be used (e.g. deaths, hospital admissions).

Phase 2 – Dynamic transmission modelling

The Successful Tenderer will be required to develop a dynamic transmission model to identify optimal influenza vaccination strategies and predict the likely impact of these strategies based on clinical effectiveness.

:

The Tenderer must offer to provide all the Services described in this Request for Tender.

:

The Department’s standard requirements are located within Section 11 of the Request For Tender documentation.

:

All deliverables are expected to be completed within approximately 12 months of project commencement.  It is expected that Phase 1 will take approximately six months and Phase 2 approximately eight months, with some overlap between the two phases.
