The Micro-Computed Tomography (MCT) beamline is one of the first two beamlines being built within the Australian Synchrotron/ ANSTO BR-GHT program. The MCT beamline project, encompassing design, procurement, build/ installation, and commissioning phases, commenced on 1st July, 2017 and will be of 4 years duration. The beamline will commence user operations on 1st July, 2021.

Key strengths of the MCT beamline will be high-speed X-ray imaging and CT, the use of phase-contrast imaging (PCI) modalities to enhance the information content in data sets for particular classes of sample, high-throughput studies, a high-resolution nano-CT mode with commensurately smaller FOV, and an ability to study dynamic processes.

In order to achieve these goals MCT requires a state-of-the-art DMM to operate in the 8 – 40 keV range. This DMM shall be of high stability and low vibration, with the first multilayer optic being water cooled.

The Supplier shall design, supply, install and functionally commission the DMM at the Australian Synchrotron (AS). The DMM shall have a design life of at least 10 years duration.
