Procurement of Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM)
This Active SEM will replace and enhance the capabilities of an existing Active SEM which is old, unreliable and not suitable for examination highly radioactive specimens prepared in the IME Hot Cells.
The new Active SEM facility will allow:
• Research into the effect of radiation damage on microstructure and mechanical properties of materials to be used in future nuclear plant.
• Fulfil ANSTO’s responsibility of undertaking and reporting the outcomes of the OPAL surveillance programme; itself a requirement under the OPAL operating license.
• Support the Synroc Mo99 waste programme by examining and confirming the integrity of witness HIP cans by sectioning and polishing. Furthermore, verification “leaching” test samples can be examined.
RFT Clause 7
7.1.1 The Conditions for Participation are mandatory requirements, which describe minimum standards that suppliers must meet for their submissions to be considered. If potential suppliers do not meet the Conditions of Participation, they will be excluded from the remainder of the tender process.
7.1.2 Where Mandatory Requirements are applicable, responses to Mandatory requirements must be provided by completing and returning the schedule, “Responses to Mandatory requirements”
7.1.3 Tenderers should note that it is not sufficient to make a general statement of compliance. Each Condition for Participation must be addressed individually by the provision of a statement detailing how the tenderer meets each of the criteria and/or by evidence.
