The Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) has released a Request for Tender (RFT) to provide Booked Car with Driver scheme services.

This tender covers the following Booked Car with Driver scheme components:

  i.   DVA arranged travel

ii.  Direct Booking Model (DBM); and

iii. NSW Country Taxi Voucher Scheme (CTVS)

Under the Booked Car with Driver scheme taxis and hire cars transport passengers who are entitled persons to and from their medical appointments.

DVA currently has contracts with transport providers across Australia that are due to expire on the 28 February 2017. To ensure continuity of services and allow new and existing providers to enter into Agreements with DVA from 1 March 2017 a request for tender is being released.

:

4.1     DVA will only accept tenders from taxi and hire car providers whose vehicles, operators and drivers are authorised to provide commercial passenger transport services in the relevant state/territory (refer Guidelines Part 1. 4. a) i)).

4.2     Tenderers must be Network, Network-like, or Non-Network transport providers as at Section 6 in Part 1, of the Guidelines (Annex B). Tenders will not be accepted from individual drivers contracted to such transport providers (refer Guidelines Part 1. 4. a) ii) and iii)).

4.3     Tenderers do not need to attach any documents to confirm their authorisation at Rule 4.1 or transport provider status at Rule 4.2. Tenderers are only required to advise DVA in the Response Form if they are authorised and provide appropriate accreditation details.  DVA will confirm this information with state/territory authorities.

4.4     If a Tenderer does not meet the conditions of participation as stated at Rules 4.1 and 4.2, then the Tenderer will be excluded from evaluation.
