AusAID, the Australian Agency for International Development, manages the Australian Government’s official overseas aid program. AusAID assists developing countries to reduce poverty and achieve sustainable development, in line with Australia’s national interest. AusAID is seeking individuals and organisations for the following Period Offer:

Infrastructure Support Services Period Offer

Provision of public infrastructure is vital for the achievement of development goals. Australian support for infrastructure in the Asia-Pacific region focuses on improving access to essential services, improving infrastructure policies and capacity building in the infrastructure sector. Further information on the Australian Aid Program’s support for infrastructure is available on the AusAID website: www.ausaid.gov.au.

AusAID now seeks individuals and organisations to provide a range of external expertise to provide infrastructure advisory services as required on a task by task basis. The Period Offer will cover a range of specialist professional disciplines covering the infrastructure work categories of transport; telecommunications; energy; water and sanitation; the built environment; and financing and management.

The Infrastructure Support Services Period Offer will be used to source short-term specialist advice for activities with durations of less than twelve months and less than AUD$500,000 in value. Activities may include:

Sector studies, pre-feasibility studies or project reviews/evaluations;
Project design, supervision or evaluation;
Technical assessment of project proposals;
Provision of technical advice on specific projects on an ad hoc basis; and
Preparation, appraisal and review of project documentation.

AusAID will undertake a one-step, untied international tender process. It is anticipated that the Period Offer will commence in July 2008, and will stand for a three (3) year period.

The closing date for submission of tenders is 2:00pm (Canberra time), 3 April 2008.
