Fire trails remediation and upgrades at Wide Bay Training Area, South Queensland
Remediation, upgrade, grooming, clearance and reuse or removal of canopy and affecting vegetation to prescribed fire trails.
Fire trails remediation and upgrades includes:
- Remediation and grooming of the prescribed fire trails;
- Remediation of ground erosion areas along the prescribed fire tracks and trails;
- Provision of general earthworks, formation re-sheet, drainage, retaining structures, etc to support safe use of the prescribed fire trails; and
- All works associated as detailed in the Scope of Works document.

The scopes of works and associated documents have not been attached. To obtain the full scope of works documentation, tenderers are to submit a signed Confidentiality Agreement as follows:

Tenderers are to note that without the Confidentiality Agreement being returned to the Contact Officer / PDS Contractor, the complete Scope of Works cannot be released.

Industry Briefing
Date & Time: 11th August 2015, between the hours of 8am and 5pm.
Please arrive 10 mins prior. Location is at Range Control Office, Wide Bay Training Area, Tin Can Bay Road, Wallu Wide Bay QLD.
Please have a Four-wheel drive vehicle with self-recovery, first aid with snake bite bandages and GPS ability to access the range. Attendees will provide their own high visibility vests, safety footwear, sun protection and any other personal protective equipment (PPE) thought necessary. Hard hats are not required.
Attendees should bring photographic identification as well as any security pass or clearance held for Defence works. Day passes to the Training Area will be issued to those that do not have existing Defence security passes and satisfy identification requirements. Escort will be provided.
Attendees need to attend for a full day excluding travel to and from the Training area. Attendance on the Training Area will be from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Attendees to assemble in the carpark outside the Range Control office at the entry to the Training Area. Attendees are to bring their own meals and rehydration fluids given the time of the day for the Briefing and the location of the site.
Attendees will need to sign-in and undergo an induction to the Training Area before the main part of the Industry Briefing.
Attendees can take their own photographs on the day, but the photos need to be vetted by escorts before being taken off the base.
The maximum number of your personnel permitted to attend the industry briefing is two (2).
If you wish to attend the industry briefing, you must notify the PDS Contractor by email at least 48 hours before the industry briefing.
The Tenderer must at the time of submitting its Tender satisfy each condition for participation as follows:
- The Tenderer must complete and return the Confidentiality Agreement.
- The Tenderer must comply with the Building Code 2013 at the time of submitting its registration of interest or if no registration of interest was submitted, at the time of submitting its tender.
- The Tenderer must not be precluded from tendering for Australian Government funded work or specifically excluded from participating in this tender process.
