The goal of the Basic Education Sector Transformation Program (Philippines) is to contribute to the following outcomes, by year 2018-19:
- More children are able to demonstrate improved mastery of primary and secondary curriculum competencies especially in English (Reading), Mathematics and Science competencies. The difference in learning outcomes for boys and girls is reduced in target regions;
- More boys and girls are participating and completing basic education in target regions; and
- Improved education services that are more gender responsive, inclusive and with greater decentralisation of management and accountability to field offices.
