The Defence Science and Technology Group (DST Group) is seeking a Contractor to supply and install mobile shelving units for its new print book repository at the DST Group Melbourne in Fishermans Bend Victoria.

In order to meet its obligations to DST Group researchers and staff located in eight sites across Australia, library staff are required to supply material from this proposed collection to DST Group staff within specified timeframes. The efficient operation of the mobile shelving units is imperative for providing material from the print book collection.

An industry briefing will be conducted at Defence Science and Technology Group, 506 Lorimer Street, Fishermans Bend Victoria commencing at 10:00 am local time in the Australian Capital Territory on 15 June 2016. 

Representatives of prospective tenderers at the briefing will be limited to two personnel. Nominations to attend the briefing are to be forwarded in writing to the Contact Officer by 09:00 am local time in the Australian Capital Territory on 10 June 2016.

Two potential suppliers questions are answered in the document titled RFT 2016-0078 DST Group Print Repository Project 2016 Potential Supplier Questions.

The Commonwealth will exclude a tender from further consideration if the Commonwealth considers that the tenderer does not comply with:

a. the tender response, including all attachments, annexes and supporting documentation, being written in English;

b. the requirement for all measurements in tenders being expressed in Australian legal units of measurement unless otherwise specified;

c. the provision of a signed Tenderer’s Deed of Undertaking in the form required at Annex A Tenderer’s Deed of Undertaking; and

d. the Commonwealth's security requirements set out at clause 2.5 to the Conditions of Tender.

It is preferred that the installation of the required shelving be fully completed as soon as possible after 26 July 2016 and strongly prefer:

a. Building 25 Room A to be complete as soon as possible and no later than the end of August 2016; 

b. Building 35 be fully completed as soon as possible after 26 July 2016 and strongly prefer no later than the end of September 2016; and 

c. Building 25 Room B be fully completed as soon as possible after 26 July 2016 and strongly prefer no later than the end of September 2016.
