Provision of services and advice for ecosystem establishment and landform studies
Services will include:
- research relating to ecosystem establishment and sustainability, landform performance and monitoring techniques for mine site rehabilitation;
- collaborative project work on the use of Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) for assessing mine site rehabilitation, with a focus on hyperspectral and Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) data collection;
- RPAS data processing and analysis for ecosystem assessment and subsequent reporting in peer-reviewed literature;
- evaluation of mining related applications, plans and reports from an ecosystem establishment and sustainability, landform performance and civil engineering perspective;
- participation in workshops, meetings and technical forums as a mine rehabilitation specialist on behalf of the Department; and
- the provision of formal assessment reports and ad hoc advice on a range of mine site rehabilitation matters.
The services above will be related to mining activities at the Ranger uranium mine including:
- evaluation of revegetation strategies, proposals and landform plans;
- assessment of monitoring programs for the final landform including ecosystem establishment and sustainability;
- operationalising the collection and analysis of data from RPAS at the landscape scale using a range of sensors, including hyperspectral and LiDAR imagery;
- bulk backfill of mined out pits; and
- other mining and mine rehabilitation related activities as required.
Tenderer exists as a legal entity at the Closing Time (see paragraph 8.3 of the attached Request for Tender).
The Agreement for the Supplies is expected to commence in Septemper 2018 and conclude in September 2021 with an option for the Department to extend the Agreement for a further 2 years.
