Strategic Procurement Outlook

The Office of Parliamentary Counsel (OPC) provides timely, high quality legislative drafting and publication services. These include drafting and advisory services for Commonwealth Bills, legislative instruments and other instruments as well as comprehensive public access to Commonwealth legislation, particularly through the ComLaw website.

OPC will continue to be responsive to government priorities through:
• maintaining a high standard of legislative drafting capability by providing substantial drafting training to its employees and by engaging in continuous improvement of drafting techniques
• progressing work on practical measures to improve the clarity and accessibility of Commonwealth primary and subordinate legislation
• delivering a high standard of legislative drafting proposals by providing advice to other agencies on legislative projects and by training staff of policy agencies who might be responsible for giving drafting instructions to OPC
• maintaining free online access to up-to-date Commonwealth laws through ComLaw, and
• continuing to work with other agencies to manage the sunsetting of legislative instruments.
The OPC Annual Procurement Plan provides potential suppliers with an indication of likely procurements in the coming financial year to give them advance knowledge of supply requirements. Only planned procurements over $80,000 (GST inclusive) have been reported in the OPC's Annual Procurement Plan.

All planned procurements are subject to revision or cancellation. Final decisions will not be made until each procurement has been initiated. This data is for planning purposes only - it does not represent a pre-solicitation or constitute an invitation to bid or request for proposal, nor is it a committment by the OPC to purchase the described supplies and services.
