The Managing Contractor services include management of design and construction services in respect of the following works: 

All Training Areas: 

  • Reviewing and updating existing master plans for each Training Area including developing range safety traces as required.   

Robertson Barracks Close Training Area: 

  • Upgrade and expansion of existing facilities including Weapon Training Simulation System (WTSS) facility and vehicle wash point.
  • New facilities including Range Control complex, Urban Operations training facility, assault obstacle course, helicopter landing site.
  • New weapons ranges including all required targetry to accommodate required training and expected throughput.
  • Decommissioning and remediating existing ranges including 800m Marksmanship Training Range (MTR) – A, 100m Grouping and Zeroing Range and Pistol and Shotgun Range.
  • New unsealed perimeter road.
  • Upgrading existing services and roads.
  • New communications infrastructure.

 Kangaroo Flats Training Area: 

  • New facilities including Range Control complex, Urban Operations training facility, ammunition transfer point, vehicle wash point, medical facility.
  • Upgrading existing facilities including Training Camp.
  • Upgrading existing services including providing a permanent electrical supply.
  • New weapons ranges including all required targetry to accommodate required training and expected throughput.
  • Decommissioning existing ranges including Direct Fire Support Weapons Range, grenade range and other unrequired small arms ranges.
  • New internal access roads to new ranges.
  • Upgrading existing roads.
  • New communications infrastructure. 

Mount Bundey Training Area: 

  • New facilities including Training Camp.
  • Upgrading existing facilities including Range Control, vehicle wash point, Urban Operations training facility, ammunition transfer point, helicopter landing sites.
  • New access road internal to the Training Area.
  • New weapons range including all required targetry to accommodate required training and expected throughput.
  • Decommissioning existing ranges including 500m Classification Range.
  • Upgrading existing services.
  • New communications infrastructure.

Bradshaw Field Training Area: 

  • New facilities including Training Camp, medical facility, ammunition transfer point, Urban Operations training facility, vehicle wash point.
  • Upgrading existing services.
  • Heavy duty hardstand (approx. 1000m2) with a covered area for storage of supplies.
  • New weapons range including all required targetry to accommodate required training and expected throughput.
  • New communications infrastructure.

Confidential Information 

The Tender Documents contain Confidential Information. Further information regarding the Tenderer's obligations in respect of Confidential Information is set out in the Disclaimer and Confidentiality Agreement and the Tender Documents. 

Industry Briefing 

An industry briefing will be conducted in Darwin with site visits planned to Robertson Barracks Close Training Area and Kangaroo Flats Training Area only. At this stage, the intention is for the industry brief to be conducted from 08:30 am – 12:00 pm Tuesday 21 May 2019 in Darwin with site visits to Kangaroo Flats Training Area and Robertson Barracks Close Training Area following it. All site visits and industry brief activities will be complete by 11:30 am Wednesday 22 May 19.  

Date and time to be confirmed once the Tender Documents are issued. Further information regarding the industry briefing will be provided in the Tender Documents.

Building Code 2016 

The Building Code 2016applies. If the Building Code 2016 applies then by lodging a Tender, the Tenderer will become subject to the Building Code 2016.  

Further information regarding the Building Code 2016 is provided in the Tender Documents (including conditions of participation and minimum form and content requirements). 

WHS Accreditation Scheme 

The WHS Accreditation Scheme pursuant to the Building and Construction Industry (Improving Productivity) Act 2016 (Cth) applies.  Further information regarding the WHS Accreditation Scheme will be provided in the Tender Documents. 

Indigenous Procurement Policy 

The Australian Government's new Indigenous Procurement Policy took effect on 1 July 2015.  Further information regarding the Indigenous Procurement Policy will be provided in the Tender Documents (including, if it applies potential minimum form and content requirements). 

Joint Bids  

The Commonwealth does offer the Tenderer an opportunity to lodge its Tender on a Joint Bid Basis.  Further information regarding Joint Bids will be provided in the Tender Documents. 

PWC Act 

The Works described in the Tender Documents are a "public work" and therefore subject to section 18 of the Public Works Committee Act 1969 (Cth).
