AWM Gallery Exhibition Masterplan
Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane, Darwin, Hobart
The Memorial, supported by government, needs to proceed with preparation of a new Gallery Masterplan to be completed end 2018. The new Gallery Masterplan is required to support the redevelopment and in part to inform the submission of the Detailed Business Case (DBC) for the Memorial’s Redevelopment, being prepared for the consideration of government. This DBC is assessing options which increase the available floor space to 50,000m2 to 65,000m2 through redevelopment with additions to gallery, visitor services and visitor engagement spaces.
The Gallery Masterplan will be required to inform the project planning and development of the Memorial Redevelopment DBC.
Due to the timeframe for development of the DBC it is necessary that the delivery of the Gallery Masterplan be in two parts, with a consolidated plan by the end of 2018. The two parts are;
Stage 1- High level stakeholder engagement and consultation in support of the need in detailing the user requirements including broad direction and principles, basic data gathering and analysis (tourism, audience, visitor circulation, gallery utilisation)
Stage 2 - Detailed analysis and recommendations, to be assessed from stakeholders, public audience in presenting visitor services, exhibitions, galleries, physical layout (including significant national collection materials), visitor circulation and facilities (including building and audio-visual services).
