Invitation to Apply to participate in the CSO Funding Pool and supply PBS medicines and NDSS products.
The Department is conducting an Invitation to Apply (ITA) to identify and appoint pharmaceutical wholesalers to participate in the Community Service Obligation (CSO) Funding Pool arrangements and access CSO funding, based on their capacity and capability to meet key CSO service obligations related to the distribution of Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) medicines and National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS) products.
The primary objective of the CSO Funding Pool is to ensure that arrangements are in place to provide all Australians with ongoing and timely access to PBS Medicines via their community pharmacy. The CSO Funding Pool provides support to pharmaceutical wholesalers supplying PBS Medicines (as defined under the CSO arrangements) and NDSS Products to community pharmacies across Australia, regardless of pharmacy location and the relative cost of supply.
The objective of the ITA is to identify organisations that have the capacity and capability to participate as CSO Distributors and meet key service standards related to the timely, efficient and affordable supply of PBS medicines and NDSS products to community pharmacies across Australia.
