(a) ASIC is extending its Symantec solution to encompass ASIC's x86 and remaining Solaris UNIX service environments (excluding mainframe).
(b) In order to extend the application of the Symantec solution, ASIC requires:
(i) the provision of additional licences for the Symantec Backup Products Suite for implementation of an enterprise backup and recovery solution for ASIC's x86 and Solaris UNIX server environments (Software);
(ii) ongoing maintenance and support of the Software (Support Services); and
(iii) supply of other products in the Symantec product suite as required during the Contract Period.(c) ASIC’s requirements are set out in more detail in Schedule 1.
(d) Subject to clause 28, any contract entered into as a result of this RFT will be based on the Draft Form of Contract.
Accordingly, ASIC invites authorised resellers of the Symantec Backup Products Suite to submit a tender for the provision of Symantec Backup and Recovery Software Licenses and related Support and Maintenance Services.
