Market Update - Modernising Health and Aged Care Payments Services Program

The Australian Government is seeking to replace the IT systems supporting health, aged care and related veterans’ payments with a new digital payments platform, based on existing commercial technology.
On 6 March 2017, the Department of Health (the Department) issued a Request for Information (RFI). The RFI sought information on how the platform should be designed and delivered, and the capabilities that exist in the market to deliver it. The Department is pleased with the strong interest from the market (that would supply the services and components to support this Program) in the RFI process.
This market update provides an overview of the Program’s learnings from the RFI and a selection of current and future state artefacts. It also invites organisations with an interest in engaging further with the Program to register their interest in initial market engagement meetings in August.
This update is part of the broader ongoing engagement plan with the market, industry bodies and other interested parties.
