JP9102 is a major capability project that will provision the future of the Australian Defence Satellite Communications System (ASDSS) across the space, ground and control segments. The Commonwealth anticipates capability realisation from the mid-2020s.
JP9102 seeks industry input to develop indicative costed capability options. The information received as a result of this RFI process will inform Government decision making in relation to JP9102. In seeking your response, the Commonwealth wishes to ensure that this planning and decision making occurs with the full benefit of information provided by your organisation.
At this stage this is for information only. The Release of information pertaining to the RFI will occur in two parts:
- an RFI that will be released on AusTender on 14 Jan 2019
- an important supporting Data Pack that will be released to RFI respondents on or after 14 Jan 2019, on return of an executed non disclosure agreement
To enable rapid release of the Data Pack to interested parties on 14 Jan 2018, the non disclosure agreement is now available on AusTender and can be returned at any time henceforth, until the closure of the RFI period. Please submit the non disclosure agreement via email to the Contract officer nominated below. Tenderers are to note that without the signed/executed non-disclosure agreement, the data pack cannot be released.
A brief to Industry will be conducted to introduce ASDSS, outline the RFI process, and allow a forum for industry questions. The brief will be held at the Ngunnawal Theatre, Russell Offices Building One, Canberra. The briefing will commence promptly at 1230h on Thursday 17 January 2019. No RSVP is required.

This notice or completion of the RFI or attendance at the Industry Brief does not represent a guarantee of future work in any format. JP 9102 is subject to Government approval. No procurement activities have been approved to proceed in connection with JP 9102 at this stage.
Tenderers are advised that questions submitted to the Contact Officer between 21 December 2018 and 03 January 2019 will not be actioned until 04 January 2019 at the earliest.
