Tranche 2 will commence with the release of an Invitation to Register Interest (the 'ITRI') in mid-2018. The ITRI will seek expressions of interest from industry regarding emerging night fighting technologies which the Commonwealth may acquire from 2020. The Commonwealth intends to shortlist ITRI responses before conducting a limited Request For Tender with shortlisted respondents.

Description:

Project LAND 53 Phase 1BR Night Fighting Equipment (the ‘Project’) Tranche 1 is currently replacing the Australian Defence Force's dismounted combatant's night fighting equipment. Tranche 2 of the Project proposes to acquire emerging night fighting technology that will augment, supplement and/or enhance (but not replace) the Tranche 1 capability. It is expected that acquisition and support of multi-spectral night vision capability will be the focus of Tranche 2, capturing technical advances since the selection of the Tranche 1 equipment.
