Douglas Shoal Remediation pre-release notice
UPDATE 14 DECEMBER 2017:
The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority plans to hold an industry briefing session on Thursday 1 February 2018 from 9:00am to 3:30pm (QLD time) in Brisbane. The industry briefing will provide background information related to the Douglas Shoal Environmental Remediation Project as well as specific information related to a planned Request for Tenders (RFT) for Remediation Planning and Project Management, and a planned Request for Information (RFI) for Remediation Works and Environmental Monitoring.

This is a pre-release notice only to provide advance notice of the opportunity. Prospective tenderers are advised that the Commonwealth of Australia, as represented by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (“the Authority”), currently anticipates that it will conduct the following procurement activities on or about the dates indicated:

Early January 2018: Release an open market request for tenders for the provision of remediation planning and project management services for Douglas Shoal.

Early January 2018: Release a request for information for possible methods and vessel/equipment availability to conduct remediation works and environmental monitoring at Douglas Shoal.

Late January to early February 2018: Conduct an industry briefing session in Brisbane related to the above processes.
The intention of this pre-release notification is to ensure that potential providers receive equal advance notice of the Authority’s intentions. No submissions are required at this time; however, registering your interest to attend the industry briefing session (by emailing procurement@gbrmpa.gov.au) will assist the Authority to ensure a suitable venue is booked.
UPDATE 14 DECEMBER 2017:
Each tenderer will be limited to no more than three (3) representatives at the Industry briefing;
Do not RSVP for the industry briefing at this time. The RFT and RFI (planned for release in January 2018) will contain instructions for formally nominating representatives to attend the industry briefing.
The Authority may alter its plans, including the planned date for the industry briefing, and will post an addendum or a new notice advising if this occurs.

Please note that the Close Date and Time stated in this notice is when the pre-release notice will cease to be published and does not reflect the actual closing time for potential tenderers to lodge their submissions. The Request for Tender and Request for Information will be published in separate Approach to Market notices on AusTender and will include the Close Date and Time for lodging submissions.
