Applications are now open for organisations to apply for the Time to Work Employment Service program.

The Time to Work Employment Service is a new employment service targeted at sentenced adult Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in prison. The program will offer Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with assistance to transition from prison to employment, by preparing them for employment post-release.

The Department is seeking suitably qualified providers to deliver the service in adult prisons in non-remote regions. Potential providers will have an in-depth understanding of the issues of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in prison and the barriers they will face as ex-offenders looking for employment, as well as an ability to effectively engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in a culturally competent manner.

:

In accordance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules, the Department has advertised this approach to market on the AusTender website. However, all responses must be submitted through the 360Pro system. 360Pro is the tool the Department has mandated for use in this process.

Information on submitting your response via the 360Pro system is available at the Employment Services Purchasing Information website (www.employment.gov.au/purchasing).

:

It is a condition of participation that a Respondent must, at the time of submitting its response, be able to undertake and pass any security or training requirements to work within the non-remote prisons. Other mandatory requirements are set out in the Request for Tender paper.

Respondents are encouraged to refer to the Department’s Employment Services Purchasing Information website (www.employment.gov.au/purchasing) for further information.

:

Service delivery will commence in different states and territories between January 2018 and July 2018.

End date of the Time to Work Employment Service 2018–2021 Deed, unless extended by the Department.
