In late 2016, the Department of Health began investigating possible solutions to streamline and digitise current business processes relating to forecasting, ordering, authorising and monitoring of National Immunisation Program vaccines.  The proposed solution to manage the internal administrative processes associated with the supply chain of essential vaccines for the National Immunisation Program is to implement the Vaccine Administrative System.  The Vaccine Administrative System will be an IT solution connecting the Commonwealth Department of Health with State and Territory Departments’ of Health and the Vaccine Suppliers.
