Potential suppliers are informed that the department currently anticipates that it will conduct following activities on or about the following dates:

  • Mid May 2018: approach to market seeking responses from potential suppliers for the project, subject to availability of funds.

  • Late August to late September 2018: conduct contract negotiations and award contract to the successful respondent(s), subject to the successful completion of approach to market process.

The intention of this pre-release notification is to ensure that potential suppliers receive equal advance notice of the department’s intentions in relation to the project, and a copy of the industry brief information pack.

The industry brief information pack contains information about the project, and a returnable schedule to be submitted by potential suppliers within three (3) weeks after the date of the industry briefing session (on or before 5:00PM (AEDT), Tuesday, 20 February 2018) via email to clientmanagement@agriculture.gov.au. The department notes that sending back the returnable schedules by potential suppliers is desirable, but not a mandatory requirement of the project. The potential suppliers are also allowed to submit returnable schedules which are only partially completed.

The department intends that the information included in returnable schedules will be used by the department to obtain a preliminary understanding of the extent to which the market meets the project needs prior to formally approaching the market, and to inform the department's Business Case and any subsequent approach to market. All potential supplier materials will be kept in confidence by the department, subject to the usual exceptions such as disclosure to Parliament, Ministers etc.

In addition, an opt-in offer is also made to each potential supplier to present their proposed solution to the Market Analysis Working Group within three (3) weeks after the industry briefing session (on or before 5:00PM (AEDT), Tuesday, 20 February 2018) for up to one (1) hour each, focusing on a predefined use case (as provided in the industry brief information pack), either in person or via tele/video conferencing. The presentations by potential suppliers is desirable, but not mandatory, and could take the form of PowerPoint presentations and/or product demonstrations.

Participation in this process is at the sole expense of potential suppliers. The department is not liable for costs of potential suppliers participating in this process.

Please register your interest to attend the industry briefing session by emailing clientmanagement@agriculture.gov.auby no later than 5:00PM (AEDT), Thursday, 25 January 2018, with the following information:
