Description:

This Request for Proposal NS0607RFP concerns the requirement of the ABC to establish a panel of external legal service providers to give advice regarding certain legal issues affecting the ABC. The ABC is a national public broadcasting organisation in Australia providing radio, television and multimedia content and related services across Australia and internationally. The ABC has premises in every Australian State capital, many major regional centres and in a small number of overseas cities. With increases in its broadcasting activities, the continuing development of ABC Enterprises, the ABC’s expanding international role and major technological changes in broadcasting, the ABC regularly requires legal services in new and sometimes highly specialised areas as well as the core areas of Media Law, Defamation/Contempt litigation and general Commercial activities.The ABC has therefore decided to set up a panel of preferred external lawyers who can advise and act for the ABC and its subsidiaries in these specialised areas of law. Lawyers will be appointed to the Panel for a period of two years.
