Description:

On 12 November 2015, as part of the Spring 2015 Repeal Day, the Minister for Finance agreed to discontinue the AGTA. This means that the requirement for suppliers to be signatories to the AGTA before they can provide telecommunications carriage services to the Government has been discontinued.

Termination of the AGTA Head Agreement does not affect any existing arrangements AGTA signatories have with entities including under the Internet Based Network Connection Services (IBNCS) Panel or the Mobile Panel. Termination also does not affect the exercising of extension options of an active contract based on the AGTA.

New contracts can be formed under the Mobile Panel or other active panels until that panel expires.

New contracts outside of active panel arrangements can use the AGTA terms and conditions until the end of the termination period, which for most signatories is in April 2017. After the termination period ends new contracts cannot refer to the AGTA.
