Expression of Interest (EOI) for the Design & Construction of the Intermediate Level Waste Storage Facility
<span">In producing radiopharmaceutical products, the ANSTO generates radioactive waste for which it is responsible for ensuring safe storage during predisposal management. The waste production rate is forecast to increase in coming years. A new waste storage Facility is required prior to depletion of storage capacity within the ANSTO’s existing facility. Without the new Facility, ANSTO’s ability to supply radiopharmaceutical products to both domestic and international markets will be limited. Hence ANSTO has established a project to design, site, and construct a new waste storage Facility on its Lucas Heights campus in Sydney. This Facility will be considered fit for purpose if it provides safe, secure, buildable, operable, and maintainable storage of ANSTO’s Intermediate Level Waste
